Malan Breton’s Fall 2010 was a spectacular Bollywood Extravaganza. After the show I chatted with Malan as he explained the love he has for the country of India. The beautiful fabrics, colors and embellishments of the Indian garments were his inspiration in creating his Fall 2010 collection.
Malan’s fashion production was 15 minutes of sheer Indian Bollywood entertainment with appearances by dancer and muse Zuleka Emerson Dove- Hatch, the SA Dance Company and American Idol’s Anoop Desai with a world premiere of his single “My Name”. The grand finali was Malan Breton strutting down the runway with Countess LuAnn de Lesseps from Real Housewive’s of New York.
Malan’s Collection included luxurious fabrics, detailed corsets and the staple piece suits for men. The creative Indian inspired jewelry decorated models’ faces.

Cognac chats with Stylist Rosemary Ponzo backstage at the Fall/Winter 2010 ShowVideo by Mauro Botero – Cognacscorner.tv is sponsored by g2Organics and Scenterprises, Ltd.
Zang Toi’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection was a presentation of luxury velvet fabrics, beading embellishments, the regal hue of purple, glamorous furs, and rich textures.
Beaded florals and sequins adorned fabrics by Loro Piana and Zegna as well as the designer’s signature cashmere silk and wool selections. The”royal “color of purple chosen for both its beauty and strength was the signature hue collaborating with silver, charcoal and black. Zang also introduced pinstripe suiting with fedoras emphasizing a menswear inspiration.
Zang’s collection included classic looks such as an updated version of Mr. Toi’s classic pants, a black wool and ribbon and sequin bouclé upturned peak lapel blazer with assymetric velvet ribbon bow; black wool and ribbon and sequin bouclé trouser, just simply gorgeous. My favorites included a purple and black silk/mohair ombré side slit sheath dress and a black jet draped heiress choker, purple silk organza strapless gown with black sequins andbeads ombré. I also adored the full length black velvet coat with fox fur trim.
The gowns were very red carpet, just stunning!

Furstenberg Fall 2010 Show – Video by Mauro Botero -Cognac’s Corner is sponsored by g2Organics and Scenterprises, Ltd.
During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I stopped by the TRESemme Lounge in the tents at Bryant Park and chatted with TRESemme Stylist Tyler about the many hair products that TRESemme is promoting, one in particular is the New Fresh Start Dry Shampoo. Tyler explained that this revolutionary new product was used on the models for the Diane Von Furstenburg and Charlotte Ronson Shows.
Over 40 years ago, a group of top stylists and salon hair care experts set out with a vision – to bring you the best in ingredients and salon-quality styling. TRESemmé was initially intended to be sold exclusively in top salons across the world. However, they believe every person should have access to these salon innovations. Thus, TRESemmé was born.
Tresemmé Products World-renowned TRESemmé stylists are still testing and bringing salon innovations into the market, creating savvy products that are available everywhere (and are still used in salons today). Why? They are passionate that your cut should live up to its fullest potential and that everyone should reap the benefits of salon breakthroughs. That’s why we have over 40 affordable products that salon stylists count on to address your individual concerns.
As you can see at the Diane Von Furstenburg’s collection the clothes and the Hair were amazing.
Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2010 Collection was menswear inspired collaborating with a playfield of silvery and gold metallics.
“I always wanted to live a man’s life in a woman’s body,” revealed Diane Von Furstenberg. The masculine look is new and femininely improved for Diane, so it was refreshing to see her new collection that revealed qualities of masculine versus feminine. It made her new collection a joy to view.

Loris Diran Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
The Loris Diran Fall 2010 collections is inspired by the Silent film era of the 1920’s. Louise Brooks portrayal of Lulu in Pandora’s Box and GretaGarbo’s Leonora and La Brunna in Torrent, represent Diran’s feminine ideal. These Screen Goddesses were free spirited women, terribly sensual and comfortable in their own skin yet vulnerable, feminine and demurely innocent.
The images in these classic films influence Diran’s asymmetric and easy silhouettes combined with unstructured masculine tailoring paired effortlessly with weightless glamorous evening gowns.
Soft expensive luxurious fabrics: silk velvet, panne and crepe black satin in cream and black, gabardine metallic wool boucles and lace.
For the distinguished gentlemen’s collection Loris Diran chose traditional elegant fabrics: cashmere, twill, herringbone in charcoal gray, white and copper.

In the tents I met up with some friends of mine Beauty Expert Alison Blackman from advicesisters.net and Fashion Report Patrick Hazelwood, Event Planner/Model and now Fashion Reporter for Emeraldchic.com. We chatted about fashion Week, the passing of Designer Alexander McQueen and Ports 1961 Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.
Fashion Designer Tia Cibani found inspiration for her Fall 2010 Ports 1961 collection,in the feisty attitude of Amelia Earhart, the pioneering female aviator who earned worldwide recognition in 1932, when Congress honored her with the Distinguished Flying Cross after her landmark flight across the Atlantic, making her the first female recipient of this award.
Cibani’s inspiration followed through to design ing the collection with an aviation theme including hat designs, which ranged from ’20s-era, cloche-like silhouettes to dramatic pieces with long flaps along the back and a medieval armory feel.
After the show I chatted with Fashion Reporter Patrick Hazelwood.

Cognac chats with Representative Michaela Thayer about the Heart Truth Red Collection Fall/Winter 2010 – Video by Mauro Botero – Cognac’s Corner is sponsored by g2Organics.com Dog-power.com and Scenterprises, Ltd.
During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I interviewed Representative Michaela Thayer in the tents at Heart Truth Booth.
The Red Dress was designed to build awareness that women are at risk for heart disease, and motivate them to take action to reduce their risk. As an icon, the Red Dress tested well with women across the country who cited its ability to get attention, convey the seriousness of heart disease, and change the perception that it is only a man’s issue.
The Heart Truth introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness at the campaign’s launch in 2002.
On Thursday, February 11, 2010, The Heart Truth returned to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for its annual Red Dress Collection Fashion Show. This year they went “behind the seams” to remind women that the truth isn’t always pretty—more women die of heart disease than any other disease. Red Dress Collection 2010 is presented by Diet Coke. National sponsors include Swarovski, and Tylenol and St. Joseph Aspirin; make-up partner is Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
Glamorous TV Stars walked the catwalk for a fabulous cause at the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show. Surrounded by a stunning Swarovski crystal set, this season’s celebrity beauties walked tall in custom shoes from Brian Atwood. Heidi Klum closed the show in a gown from John Galliano. “I loved that the dress is sexy and slinky,” she said. “It shows the curves, but not too much.” And did the professional strutter give any tips to her fellow models? “No! Everyone has their own flair and their own way and they blow kisses and they do funny things. This is about these women being here and having an important message.” In keeping with this theme, a number of dresses will be up for auction in support of women’s heart health awareness on clothesoffourback.org.
Kristin Chenoweth
Kristin Chenoweth opened the show to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” in a dress and jewelry by Daniel Swarovski. “The necklace is the star,” she said. “I love all the hearts.” Her secret to a perfect strut? “I’m going to pretend I’m Heidi Klum!”
Bethenny Frankel
Bethenny Frankel may be pregnent, but that didn’t stop her from displaying her curves in just the right places in a scensuous revealing Isabella Oliver design. “The dress is like Donna Karan and Herve Leger got married!” the The Real Housewives of New York City star said of the jersey creation.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian blew kisses To Football Player and signficant other Reggie Bush in a Grecian goddess-style Marchesa.
Joan Collins
She may be pushing 80 but Joan Collins looked divine walking on the runway or should I say Alexis Carrington is back! Dynasty legend Joan Collins worked it in a dramatic chiffon Stephane Rolland gown.
In keeping with this theme, a number of dresses will be up for auction in support of women’s heart health awareness on clothesoffourback.org.

Dogs are fashionistas too!!!!! I was invited to attend another red carpet event during Fashion Week, Lovers and Leashes PETaPOTTY’s Westminster Experience. The event was held at the Pennsylvania Hotel on February 12, 2010. At the event I had a chance to interview Celebrity Super Model Beth Ostrosky-Stern who was receiving an award for her philantrophic achievements. We also discussed Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as she revealed her favorite show in the Tents was Nicole Miller.
I also had the chance to chat with Dara Forster from pupstyle.com
Pupstyle.com is a site devoted to dog luxuries, dog fashion and celebri-dog news and gossip. Founded as a labor of love by New York City’s husband and wife taste-maker team Dara Foster & Jonathan Spooner in 2003. The site is intended as a vehicle to set higher standards for dog fashion and luxury. If you’ve ever tried to search the internet with the three words “dog” “fashion” and “luxury” attached to each other, you know what turns up is anything but “honest” dog luxury. These days, every pink, overpriced, dog sweater made in China is marketed as “luxury” with little or no attention paid to real value or workmanship. We’re here to help you sift through the trash and connect directly to “real” dog luxuries available worldwide. That means, we promise to apply the same high standards of luxury to dog products that we apply to those for people. While we can’t erase all the visually damaging dog fashion in the world, we can do our best to elevate taste levels one collar at a time. Dogs know when they look good! DARA + JON

Later I caught up backstage with Football Reciever Terrell Owens about the Perry Ellis Line. We conversed about the Perry Ellis Brand and some new projects he will be working on endorsing the Perry Ellis line.
Terrell Eldorado Owens is an American football wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, and former holder of the league single-game reception record, Owens has been one of the dominant receivers of his era.
As productive as he has been, Owens has been equally controversial, creating firestorms with each team he has played for as a professional. Owens played college football and basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Owens was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004 after a spat with 49ers front office members. Two years later, he was released and signed to another large pact by the Dallas Cowboys, only to be given his unconditional release on March 4, 2009[3] and signed by the Bills several days later.
Popularly known by his initials, T.O., Owens is both renowned and reviled for his flamboyant touchdown celebrations, earning him many fines and his teams’ frequent penalties for his end zone theatrics.
Perry Ellis debuted his fall/winter 2010 collection on February 15, 2010 at the promenade in Bryant Park. The collection was a contemporary and modern twist on classic men’s sportswear. For the first time in a while, the show was actually in the evening due to the fact that John Crocco actually geared this towards evening wear with formal influences.

Cognac chats with Fashion Designer Helen Yarmak and Celebrity Stylist Derek Warburton at the Helen Yarmak Fall/Winter 2010 Collection – Cognac’s Corner is sponsored by g2Organics and Scenterprises.com – Video by Mauro Botero
This season Helen Yarmak’s collection showcased lavish, luxurious fur in emerald and teal hues in contrast to a more conventional of traditional sable, fox and mink. My favorite vibrant furs darlings were emphasized at the end of the show the emerald sable was magnificent. Helen as we all know is the Queen of furs. Her furs have of course been on the hit TV show “Sex And The City.”
Yarmak’s furs showed more avante garde carefree styles a break from traditional full length looks. Her runway showcased models in sable, mink broadtail, fox and rex that are done as: over-sized vests, cropped jackets, three-quarter sleeves and short sleeve kimono-style coats. Capes an knee-length looks ruled the glamorous elegant collection. The collection was more hip, youthful and very, very sexy darlings!!!!

Cognac Chats with Celebrity Stylist Derek Warburton after the show – Video by Mauro Botero
Lifestyle Guru Derek Warburton has been a fashionista all his life. After leaving his mark in high school, by creating fashions for school projects, he moved from New Hampshire to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. After college, Warburton styled and produced his first benefit, Fashion for Aids, a charity fashion show using vintage clothes to highlight the 1920s through the 1970s. With his styling/production accomplishments under his belt, he relocated to Boston, MA.
Derek quickly dove into the industry by becoming a co-partner of Atomic Funk, “the” place to book production staff for top fashion photographers, magazines and publications worldwide; and as one of the city’s top stylists. His unforgettable personality landed him co-hosting positions on “Britain’s Fashion Avenue”, “Big Boutique” on the Style Network, and as a fashion trend reporter for Fox News.
His love of fur and luxury brought him to the Helen Yarmak Fall/Winter Collection 2010. He is currently working on a Documentary that will be premiering in March.

Cognac Chats with Stylist and Glove Designer Patricia Parenti before the Christian Siriano show and attends the Miguel Antoinne Fashion Installation – Video by Mauro Botero – Cognac’s Corner is sponsored by g2Organics and Scenterprise Fragrance
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is always thrilling. This year it kicked off with a snow storm as press ventured out in a blizzard to pick up their credentials. This season is the last for Bryant Park never the less I attended many shows which you will see for the next week as I gather interviews, videos and photos of many of the talented designers and fashionistas that I chatted with.
One such emerging designer is Miguel Antoine.
Miguel Antoine Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
His Fall/Winter Collection 2010, this is the designer’s fourth Collection for men.
The collection was inspired by the bad boy image complete with cropped jackets, wool trench coats with leather detailing, polished belts, leather knit sweaters, legging-style pants with a color palette of blacks, greys, browns, midnight navy, faint bordeaux and bone.
Fit, proportion to scale, fine lines, exquisite fabrics, enduring colors, and craftsmanship reminiscent of bespoke tailoring are hallmarks of the collection. The miguel Antoinne line offers individual pieces that can be can be collected over a lifetime. He continues to create a wardrobe for the discriminating man who has a style all his own.
Finding inspiration in every facet of live, Miguel believes that dress is evolutionary, whereas style is everlasting. That clothing is simply symbolic of a state of mind and should be experienced freely.
Publicist Jenelle Forin from Pierce Mattie Public Relations informed me that the collection is available at http://www.miguelantoinne.com/ and select boutiques.
I also chatted with Glove Designer and my Stylist Patricia Parenti on how to effectively put on a pair of ladies gloves before attending the Fall/Winter 2010 Christian Siriano Collection.
Christian Siriano Fall/Winter 2010
Oprah Winfrey calls his designs “works of art.” Tim Gunn calls him “a prodigy” and “the next great American fashion designer.” Only 24 years old, Christian Siriano was born to design.
Raised by a creative family in Annapolis, Maryland, Christian began designing at just thirteen years old and attended the Baltimore School for the Arts and the American Intercontinental University in London, where he interned with punk legend Vivienne Westwood, and with Alexander McQueen. Upon returning to the United States and moving to New York City, Christian’s break came when he earned a spot on season four of Bravo’s hit program Project Runway. Despite fierce competition, Christian became the show’s youngest winner, fan favorite, and a rising star in the fashion world.
Christian shows a full collection every season as part of New York Fashion Week, with past shows being sponsored by LG, Sprint, Victoria’s Secret, Cibu International, and Aveda. He has designed for a growing list of celebrity clients, including Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, Lady GaGa, Vanessa Williams, Christina Hendricks, Alexis Bledel, Amber Rose, Pink, Estelle, Mena Suvari, Kelly Rowland, Nicole Scherzinger and the Pussycat Dolls, Becki Newton, Maggie Grace, Kat DeLuna, Tori Spelling, Melanie Fiona, Thalia, and Whoopi Goldberg in her role as host of the 2008 Tony Awards. He has signed on to design a full couture collection to appear in the upcoming film Eloise in Paris, starring Uma Thurman. Alexis Bledel, dressed in Christian’s designs, was named to Vogue’s “Ten Best Dressed” list in September 2009.
Christian’s current additional projects include joining the likes of Abaete, Alice + Olivia, and Patricia Field in creating a recurring line of shoes and bags for Payless which first became available in September 2009. He also created a line of makeup for Victoria’s Secret for stores in the fall of 2009, a limited edition design collaboration for Starbucks for the 2009 holiday season, and a collaboration last year with Puma. Between his design projects, Christian has also written a style guide titled Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self, available now, and he embarked on a book tour in the fall of 2009.
This season’s collection continued to excite fashion buyers and top editors with His fuchsia satin faced organza drapped cocktail dress with side loop. Christian saved his best for last when Sessilee Lopez walked the runway in his organza drapped bodice and scalloped tulle gown which was received enormously by a standing ovation from the packed house of fashionistas.
