David Barton and wife Suzanne Bartsch never bend the rule for getting in at their annual Toy Drive — no one gets in without donating a toy. But every year, celebrity wannabee’s and New Yorkers who are just dying to be seen and photographed like celebs try desperately to crash. Luckily, there’s a store near the Barton gym on West Eighth Street where he and his wife, Susanne Bartsch, held their annual event. “The line at Walgreens next door was just as long as the line to get into the party,” laughed one guest. “Everyone was picking up last-minute gifts for the kids.” Co-host Marc Jacobs arrived with boyfriend Lorenzo Martone and four gigantic bags full of goodies, including a 3-in-1 training bike for toddlers, Barbie’s Pink Mustang Convertible and a Tonka truck. Designer Richie Rich, transsexual Amanda Lepore and several drag queens helped dilute the family atmosphere. Bette Midler could not attend but showed her support for the kids by sending 500 toys to the Barton gym.
