Lorna Luft regulated mom Judy Garland’s drug medication

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

 Lorna Luft

Judy Garland’s daughter and Liza Minelli’s sis, Lorna Luft had a terrible responsibility as a child she was in charge of juggling her mom Judy Garland’s many medications. “It was my responsibility as a kid to regulate her pills,” Luft reveals in Patti Davis’ book, “The Lives Our Mothers Leave Us,” out next month. “I remember sitting in hotel rooms, opening capsules, emptying out the drugs and filling the capsules with sugar . . . I was taught to never, ever call an ambulance, no matter what happened. I was to call my father or someone else never an ambulance because it would get into the press. I was taught at a young age to lie, to deceive, to manipulate.” Davis talks about her book with Lesley Stahl this weekend on “CBS Sunday Morning.”
