Models dressed in Chocolate Armor strut down the runway doing the catwalk revealing amazing intricate designs created by former Project Runway Designer collaborating with famous pastry chefs including Zac Young, Fritz Knipschildt and Martin Howard.  Designer Esther Nash was also chosen as one of the top Designers to create the mythical Greek Goddess Medusa.

Esther Nash, a New York based fashion designer, model, socialite & fashion expert, is the epitome of a chick on a quest. The fashion world’s former prodigy is all grown up. At the age of 18, Esther owned and operated her first retail store. At the age of 19, opened a second store, and at the age of 20, opened a third store. By the age of 21, Esther was having her own runway shows, thereby reaching the rank of a young professional designer.

Esther is a 3rd generation New Yorker and a graduate of the most prestigous, accredited Art and Fashion school of New York City coupled with a good family background.

Ms. Nash’s fashions have been featured on the long running hit HBO series Sex and the City, and her last runway show (she has had over 2 dozen) was notably attended by Vogue’s Editor in Chief Anna Wintour.

In this industry, it is the entire package that makes someone marketable. Personality plays a huge part and Esther Nash exudes character, creativity, professionalism and a positive attitude.

Esther Nash has recently signed with a top 10 modeling agency as a celebrity artist. She is making regular TV appearances as a fashion expert and commentator.

The evening of delicious gourmet glamour was emceed by CBS News Anchor Chris Wragge.  Chris introduced the models and event festivites as well bringing comic relief to the audience!

The founders and producers of the show Sylvie Douce & François Jeantet are partners at work and in life. They are the CEOs of Event International, Inc., a Paris-based international marketing, press relations and event production agency. Together they have created and implemented national and international campaigns for renowned clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Heineken, Kraft Foods, Boucheron, Chaumet and Rolex.

Ten years ago, they conceived the brilliant and delicious idea of a chocolate show for the public and the Salon du Chocolat was born, in Paris. In its first year, the Salon welcomed 40,000 visitors. Each year since, the show has increased in popularity, reaching 100,000 last October over four days. Based on the enthusiastic responses of American visitors, Sylvie and François chose New York, the food capital of the United States, as the site for a U.S. Show. In 1998, the first Chocolate Show was held on Thanksgiving weekend at the Puck Building. The second Chocolate Show moved to the Metropolitan Pavilion in 1999 to accommodate more visitors and exhibitors. The Chocolate Show then expanded with the addition of the Altman Building, adjacent to the Metropolitan Pavilion, to offer 40,000 square feet of chocolate in every conceivable form. The Chocolate Show also made its debut in Japan, in 2000.

“Our goal is to celebrate chocolate,” notes Sylvie Douce, “to foster a richer appreciation and understanding for this wonderful, magical substance. “The Chocolate Show aims to introduce people with the many ways one can experience chocolate using all the senses!”

François Jeantet, who trained as an architect, designs the décor and visual concepts of the Chocolate Show. From the logos to the chocolate exhibition itself, François’ creativity is on display at the Chocolate Show.

Currently Sylvie & François travel the world promoting the Chocolate Show in many countries which have expressed an interest in the show. Amongst them, China (Peking & Shanghai), Switzerland (Geneva & Lausanne), and Russia (Moscow).

Sylvie and François also created the first Salon des Grands Vins in Paris, which made its debut in December 1998 and is held in March every year. This celebration of fine wines gathered 100 exhibitors, among them Chateau Yquem, Chateau Figeac, as well as top Champagnes.
