I had the pleasure of interviewing both Sri Michael and Uma Nanda Saraswati about their latest Lokah’s debut release, The Ivy Ceiling merges the ancient Indian art of Kirtan with modern musical styles of the 21st century, fusing east and west in a melodic tapestry.

This high profile event was hosted by Bruno Jamais Restaurant in Manhattan. Socialites, Fashionistas, TV Realty Stars from Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New York City” Entertainment Industry Executives including Russell Simmons and Sting all came to enjoy the evening and show their support.

Sanskrit Mantras and highly textured beats coalesce in a cross-cultural expanse of sound. The Ivy Ceiling features the vocal gracings of Sting on the track, “Ma Durga” and a soulful spoken word introduction by Russell Simmons.
