Rehab kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling an item

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

kirsten-dunst.jpg

Kirsten Dunst

My sources reveal Kirsten Dunst, who finished a two-month stint at rehab center Cirque Lodge earlier this month, has been schlepping her “All Good Things” co-star, Ryan Gosling, to 12-step meetings. Insiders are concerned the duo, who have been spotted dining together, are becoming more than co-stars. “Ryan is a sucker for people he acts with,” said one source. “He starred with Rachel McAdams in ‘The Notebook’ and ended up in a relationship with her.” Dunst’s dating doesn’t seem to be helping her recovery. A witness saw her at Bread one recent afternoon and said, “She looked like crap, had greasy hair and kept wiping her nose with a Kleenex.” A rep for Dunst said, “I do not know this to be true, and as a policy we won’t be commenting on Kirsten’s personal life in any way.”

Breast Cancer Survivor Edie Falco

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

edie-falco.jpg

Edie Falco

Cancer Survivor Soprano Star Edie Falco never mentioned to her Sopranos co-stars that she had breast cancer. She reveals in the new issue of Health magazine: “I kept my diagnosis under the radar, even from the cast and crew, because well-meaning people would have driven me crazy asking, ‘How are you feeling?’ I would have wanted to say, ‘I’m scared, I don’t feel so good, and my hair is falling out!’ I bucked up, put on my Carmela fingernails, and was ready to work.” Meanwhile, Falco recently adopted her second child, a baby girl, reports In Touch.

Charlie Sheen Hooked on Hookers

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

charlie-sheen.jpg

Charlie Sheen

It appears that TV Star Charlie Sheen has never gotten over his addiction to hookers.

Another famous madam Nicki who managed a stable of prostitutes that included two Playboy Playmates, tells Vanessa Grigoriadis in the new Rolling Stone that she booked her girls for the “Two and a Half Men” star until last year. The article, “The Sex Queen of LA,” details Nici’s control of a lucrative escort service that rented stunningly beautiful women to sex-hungry men for up to $25,000 a night through ads and word of mouth.

“One day, according to Nici, the unthinkable happened: Charlie Sheen answered an ad. It was the Holy Grail of escorting, the Hollywood connection that can make or break a service,” Gregoriadis reports. “When Nici dropped four girls off at his penthouse, she found the actor in silk pajamas with ‘C. MaSheen’ embroidered over the pocket. Sheen gave her a $20,000 check for the girls, and she picked them up several hours later.”

Even after Sheen entered court-ordered rehab, Nici “continued to book girls for him, furtively sending them to a doctor’s office in LA owned by a friend of Sheen’s. The orderlies at the rehab center would let him out for his frequent medical appointments.”

Gregoriadis says Nici told her she continued to book girls for Sheen until last year, sending them to a hotel in Santa Monica.

Sheen’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told the New York Post: “This is an old, old, old story. But, if you’re looking for a really good story, I heard that Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe are getting a divorce.”

Sheen, 42, divorced Denise Richards, 36, two years ago with the former Bond girl complaining of his love of hookers and Internet porn, saying it endangered their kids. Sheen, who’s rehabbed for booze and drugs, admitted in court he was a client of Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss.

Mariah Carey acting like a sexy diva at the Tribeca Film Festival

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

marah-carey.jpg

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was acting in her usual sexy diva mode at the after party for the premiere of her “Tennessee” at the Tribeca Film Festival’s Cadillac Lounge at Tenjune on Saturday. As soon as she dropped her sunglasses on the red carpet, she quickly turned her back to the wall of photographers until she’d slipped them back on. Then she was escorted inside through a back door, but it still took her 30 minutes to make her way to her table, where Zoe Kravitz and Ben Kingsley were waiting to congratulate her. Carey’s new beau, Nick Cannon, showed up soon after. “He bailed on his own premiere to be here,” revealed my source. “He didn’t do any press for his film, ‘Ball Don’t Lie,’ and came to see Mariah.” On Friday at the lounge, William H. Macy played temporary doorman, letting in two party crashers by pretending they were pals. “He took them past the velvet rope and into the party where he introduced them to Cheryl Hines and partied with them the rest of the night,” my source replied.

Ludacris does not like lipstick on his collar

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges

Hip Hop Star Chris “Ludacris” Bridges has an eye for women - and for clothes. The hip-hop artist/actor arrived at a benefit for the Ludacris Foundation at the Ralph Lauren store in downtown Atlanta the other night, but stayed in his car with a mystery woman while a salesperson fetched him a new shirt. “He was late and got held up because there was lipstick on his collar and he had to change,” said an insider. After his switch, the pristine horndog joined Fergie, Ciara, India.Arie and Dallas Austin at the event.

Mr. Rock “N” Roll Attends Taping of Martin Scorsese’s Film “Shine The Light”

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

mr-rockroll-and-cognac.jpg TV Host Cognac Wellerlane and Mr. Rock “N” Roll Gary Gerber pose for a photo op

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

After about 800 Rock “N” Roll concerts Mr. Rock “N “Roll has 300 stories that amaze, fascinate and delight Rock N Roll fans around the globe that he would like to share.  Below are some more recent narrative Rock “N” Roll Events.

Mr. Rock “N” Rolls Horoscope for today:
April 23, 2008

Music helps replenish your energy level.  Play your CD’s if you must but a live concert could prove more rewarding, especially if you go with that very special someone as reported from The Bergen County Town News.

Rolling Stones Concert

Going back to the Bridges of Babylon Tour, The Rolling Stones sold out the Garden.  After Mr. Rock “N” Roll jammed in his rehearsal studio for a good hour he left late for the Garden show with his best pal Bob Alfonso.  Arriving late Rock and his pal Bob brainstorm on getting in backstage.  They both decide on a plan to enter the Steak Restaurant which is adjoined to the Garden.   After enjoying cocktails  they decide to put their plan into motion by walking through the staff kitchen into the back elevator right into the back entrance to watch the concert from the eigth row.  The partners in crime decide to venture into the Green Room where they came in contact with the Associate Manager who announces “There will be no autograph signatures on guitars.”  Somewhat disappointed The two decide to enter into the front of the stage where Bob photographed Rock with his bass five seconds before the Garden shut the lights down. For their No Security Tour at the Garden The Stones sold out their show once again.  Jamming in his rehearsal studio Rock once again arrived late but made sure of getting into the first show after winning a contest on 104.3 Radio Station with Jerry, Big Ed and Bob  for an all expense paid trip to Vail Colorado leaving early in the morning the next day.  As usual Rock went in wearing his numerous laminates proceeded backstage passed the limo ramp and saw another amazing show.

Robin Hood Foundation Tour held at Radio City Music Hall raised eleven million dollars for the Robin Hood Foundation, which fights poverty in and around New York City.  As usual after jamming Rock does his usual routine and again arrives late to the concert.

 mr-rocknroll-and-ron-wood.jpg

Mr. Rock “N” Roll New Jersey Gary Gerber and Legend Guitar Player Ron Wood pose for a photo-op

This time an individual opens the front door and is abruptly leaving at the moment Rock walks in.  Rock inquires “Can I have your ticket,” and this unknown kind gentleman without any hesitation is happy to oblige handing over his very expensive fourth row ticket worth approximately $10,000.  Ecstatic with his accomplishment of receiving this ticket, Rock decides to walk into the front entrance only to be refused by security because the ticket had been scanned.  Not easily discouraged, Rock walks around the building and spots a laborer leaving the side door unlocked. Having all his laminates around his neck 85% of which are authentic except the Rolling Stones laminate fabricated from a beach towel he endeavors to get in when a security guard impedes him and for the first time ever he presents his Rolling Stone laminate to the guard saying “I need to get in,” willingly the guard  lets him in resulting in Rock viewing the show from the fourth row enjoying 75% of the concert.

Before leaving Rock decides to freshen up in the downstairs restrooms and realizes that the event is black tie with patrons and guest dressed in tuxedos.  He notices a long black curtain is portioning off the downstairs venue so being of curious nature decides to investigate what all the commotion is about. Rock discovers that the Stones are having a high profile catered soiree complete with champagne, cocktails and expensive hor’dourves and again Mr. Rock “N” Roll is rubbing shoulders with celebrity rockers including Recording Artist Lenny Kravitz.  Enjoying himself at the gala, a pretty young waitress taps him on the shoulder informing him  “I told you they would be here,” turning around Rock glances at Mick Jagger from  across the room.  While thanking the waitress Rock notices a familiar hand aggressively wanting to shake his hand, shocked and amazed Rock realizes that it is Guitar legend Ron Wood who is persistant in introducing himself to Rock.  Fortunate to find another Rocker dressed in the same fashion Guitar Legend Ron Wood is pleased to converse with Mr. Rock “N’ Roll in a sea of tuxedo clad patrons.  The two fellow rockers reminiscence about Rock “N” Roll, music, past concerts and legendary Wood agrees to engrave Rock’s bass at another Rock “N” Roll event.  Continuing to enjoy himself Rock notices Keith Richards at the bar and decides to walk over and introduce himself.  He spends a good 20 minutes drinking and discussing mutual interests before Richards agrees that he indeed will also engrave Rock’s bass.

More recently towards the latter of October, Mr. Rock “N” Roll  attended the filming of the new concert documentary “Shine the Light,” at the Beacon Theatre.   The film makes all those collaborations look super lame.  It pairs one of the all time greatest rock bands, The Rolling Stones, with one of the best movie directors ever Martin Scorsese.  Mick Jagger came up with the idea as the Stones prepared for their mammoth two year Bigger Bang Tour, which kicked off in 2005.  The concept centered on the veteran band’s hugest concert ever performed in Rio de Janeiro for an audience of more than one million fans.  But shooting something that big meant recruiting a filmmaker just as monumental.  Scorsese carefully had eighteen cameras tracking and zooming the rockers at dramatic moments while carefully placing attractive young women in the first few rows (along with Bruce Willis).  Instead of doing a historical documentary Scorsese left the stage antics do the talking, by focusing on Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts at the most vulnerable and courageous concert moments and was careful in filming former President Clinton in the documentary making sure secret service men were strategically surrounding him on his 60th Birthday.

During the filming Jagger’s energy is phenomenal, and his dancing, strutting and booty-shaking have just as erotic an impact as ever. Scorsese is adamant in capturing  the band’s music and essence.  Buddy Guy, Jack White and Christina Aguilera make welcome appearances onstage.
Rock’s friends security guards Kevin and Ray are at Beacon Theatre to ensure tight security while filming.  Again Rock endeavors to get in to the taping with his bass on his back.  Rock calls his friend Security Guard Kevin to meet him at the front entrance.  Kevin informs him “Sorry, security is too tight, secret service is here, I can’t let you in.”  Regardless of security Rock embarks on getting in to view the final taping of the film the following night and is successful with his close friend Corey.

On Sunday March 30th the premiere was held at the Ziegfield Theatre on 53rd Street in Manhattan and the after party was held at Metro Plaza.  Rock decides to leave his abode at 12:30 a.m. and at 1:00 a.m, decides to call Radio Host Jerry at 104.3 to inform him that he is going to have his bass engraved.  Ten minutes after Rock parks his car Bass Player Darrell Jones engraves his bass “To Gary Thanks.”  Ecstatic Rock thought his night could never be more complete when suddenly Legend Guitar Play Ron Wood  appears and is escorted with his entourage. Rock fearlessly approaches him “I hope you are a man of your word, will you engrave my bass as promised?”  Ron responds “Glad to.”

Movie Producer Theodore Katiris and TV Personality Cognac Welllerlane at Adam Kluger PR Launch at Plumm - Photo by Lorenzo Esquivel

Another fabulous New York personality I had the pleasure to interview at Adam Kluger’s PR Launch was Recording Artist Jihae.

Inspired by Nina Simone, this artist decided early one that she would capture her audience with her pursuit of soul, honesty and truth.

New York Press - “A delicate, soulful hybrid of many styles, Jihae’s debut album betrays an unmistakably sophisticated arrangement sensibility at work, which Jihae applies to the songs in confident, subtle strokes.” Venuszine - “The shimmering and sultry release weaves together Nico’s lush longing with Fiona Apple’s ferocity and self-awareness”. Baebel Music - “Enthralling new album, boasting production work by Brent Arnold and Patrick McCarthy (REM), and guest appearances by filmmaker Michel Gondry and Lenny Kravitz, shows a confident singer who is equally ethereal and down-to-earth”. Richard Kroeling, writer/director - “Bold sonically and just bold, always surprising and somehow like Dylan — strong willed and always in charge of the intelligent thread — extremely detailed and extremely intimate and yet distant..” News and updates: Jihae is in an video art installation which features her voice as well as her acting talent in Gerald Byrn’s “Interview” shot by renown cinematographer, Chris Doyle which premiered at the Venice Biennale. Trace magazine has chosen Jihae as one of 12 innovative female singers from around the world featuring a review of her album, an interview and a self portrait of Jihae in the upcoming fall issue. Jihae plays a singer/poetess of the future in Richard Kroeling’s indie feature,” Transbeman”. 3 songs from Jihae’s album is included in the film soundtrack along with compositions from JD Foster( bassist/producer of Marc Ribot, Richmond Fontaine, Lucinda Willimas) and Michael Galasso (composer for Wong Kar Wai’s “Chungking Express”, “In the Mood for Love” and for Robert Wilson’s “Overture”) Jihae is in the process of completing remixes of 4 tracks from her debut album with Jeanluc Sinclair, a born and raised Parisian. He studied with Bernard Labadie, who performed and wrote for a slew of famed performers including Edith Piaf and Django Reinhardt. Currently an electronics composition professor at NYU, Jeanluc has a few projects under his belt with Trent Reznor.

He will be performing with Jihae at Joe’s Pub this coming Thursday incorporating the remixes at the show. FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: Samantha Tillman- Tell All Your Friends PR- 917 488 0807-http://www.myspace.com/jihaemusic

Cognac Wellerlane interviews Assistant Movie Producer Theodore Kateris of the 2005 Greek film Opa! Starring Matthew Modine at Plumm nightclub

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

Opa! Directed by Udayan Prasad starring Matthew Modine

I had the pleasure of interviewing Assistant Movie Producer Theodore Kateris of the 2005 Greek film Opa! Starring Matthew Modine at Plumm nightclub in Manhattan at the Adam Kluger Public Relations launch Party.

Cognac chats with Assistant Movie Producer Theodore Kateris

In Opa!, Matthew Modine plays Eric, an American archaeologist who uses all sorts of technology like satellites and radar to determine the best place to dig for artifacts. He comes to a small Greek island to meet with a colleague, played by Richard Griffiths, and to further his dead father’s quest for the cup of St. John. Not long after arriving, Eric falls for the charms of single mother Katerina (Agni Scott) who owns a local restaurant. Soon, however, Eric’s professional and personal lives are put into conflict and he must choose which one he cares about more.

Directed by Udayan Prasad (My Son the Fanatic), Opa! is like a postcard for the Greek isles. The amazing scenery is like a character itself in the movie and provides a backdrop for the story. Modine is good as Eric and his personality fits the character well. Agni Scott provides a spark and makes it easy to see how Eric could fall for her. The supporting cast is good as well, from Richard Griffiths to Alki David as Katerina’s friend and even the three old women in the film that act from time to time as a “Greek” chorus.

Overall the film is entertaining, although a friend and I debated whether one situation at the end of the film would be better served by being explicitly shown rather than implied and off-screen. As well, Eric’s relationship to his father is discussed enough in the film to make it seem significant, but that storyline is never quite pursued.

Adam Kluger PR Launch at Plumm Night Club

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

Cognac Chats with Bizzy Jenkins at Plumm Nightclub

New Yorkers and industry elite enjoyed an All-Media Cocktail Party on April 24th at Plumm Nightclub in Manhattan for the launch of Adam Kluger Public Relations http://www.adamklugerpr.com/.

Having worked as a television writer and producer for close to twenty years (CNN, FOX, E!), Adam Kluger lends his inside knowledge of the media profession to his passion for smart business to achieve a tremendous level of press coverage for all of his clients. With an impressive list of industry connections and an evolving relationship with new media channels and communities, Adam Kluger PR is about creating highly personalized, effective marketing strategies and publicity campaigns to help your business grow to new heights.

Entertainment was available with a live performance from the Bizzy Jenkins Experiment.  Nobody beats the Bizzy:

Bizzy Jenkins is a spoken word artist who writes and produces all of his tracks in their entirety. The music could be classified as alternative but it contains elements of punk, hiphop hardcore and classical: like Andy Kaufman or Eminem, you don’t have to like the singer, or even agree with his statements to love his music and defend his right to say the ridiculous things he says. Bizzy is provocative, and thats what makes him great.

For more information about Bizzy and the Bizzy Jenkins Experiment please visit www.bizzyjenkins.com
