Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

Madonna

The Vanity Fair Oscars party may have been a bust, but Madonna and Prince soiree more than made up for the loss of their annual after party.

Madonna’s outrageous party at her manager Guy Oseary’s Westside Hills home Sunday brought in A-listers Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, fresh-out-of-rehab Eva Mendes, Owen Wilson, Christian Slater, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi (who came from Elton John’s fund-raiser), Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz, all of whom boogied to music by DJ JusSke.

“There were Le Tourment Vert absinthe fountains flowing all night – it was insane,” said one partygoer. “Diddy grabbed the mike rallying everyone to dance. Elton John and David Furnish were getting down,” revealed our source.

After midnight, the celebs found another grand party at  Prince’s $15 million Beverly Park mansion, where the Klipsch-sponsored bash continued until 6 in the morning. “Every single Oscar winner except for Daniel Day-Lewis was there,” revealed our source.

2008 Academy Award Winners

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

Stewart hosted the famous event and started the evening saying,”These past 31/2 months have been very tough. The town was torn apart by a bitter writers strike, but I’m happy to say that the fight is over,” he said. “So tonight, welcome to the makeup sex.”

“No Country,” a gloomy drama based on a novel by Cormac McCarthy, Spanish actor Javier Bardem won for Best Supporting Actor and the film won for Best Picture.

“Ratatouille” was the winner for Best Animated Film.

A first in Oscar history, no acting award went to an American. Besides Bardem, the all-European winners were English-born Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Actor in “There Will Be Blood French beauty Marion Cotillard, Best Actress for playing Edith Piaf in the biopic “La Vie en Rose and Britain’s Tilda Swinton, who was Best Supporting Actress as an unscrupulous lawyer in “Michael Clayton.”

“It is true – there is angels in this city,” an over joyous Cotillard said of Los Angeles.

Swinton, who beat out sentimental favorite Ruby Dee from “American Gangster,” seemed stunned at the upset.

“I have an American agent who is the spitting image of this,” Swinton said, gazing at the gleaming statuette. “There’s no way I’d be in America without him.” Bardem giddily congratulated the Coen brothers as he accepted his award for a chilling portrayal of a psychopath in “No Country for Old Men.”

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine

Naked Cowboy Robert John Burck – thinks fondly of himself, especially when it comes to his obvious assets. Burck, who just got Mars to take down the M&M’s ad at its 48th Street superstore depicting a candy creature in his likeness, told Mainstreet.com: “I’ve never made a mistake in my life . . . I have a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch. I have $5,000 in my IRA, along with a cash management account. I buy real estate. I’m investing in the 17th floor of one of my friend’s hotels in Panama City Beach and bought a yacht for celebrity tours . . . Basically, I invest in high visibility assets. High visibility – the way I do everything in life.”
