Some of the highlights of the evening were when famous fashion designer Alfredo Versaci And Ballet Dancer Lenora Volpe presented the award to Best Designer Hillary Flowers.  Ms. Flowers signature collection is famous for its unique one of a kind creative designs with the emphasis on individualism. Her divine fashions can be found in New York City, Los Angeles and South Hampton’s trendy boutiques.  Famous Celebrity Photographer Stephanie Parker won for Most Valuable Supporter.  Socialite Stephanie Parker has earned her award by the significant images she has collected in her enormous database of celebrities, political figures fashion and art.  Best Singer Award was presented to the incomparable Grace Garland whose sultry satin voice caresses us darlings with a sexy soulful kiss. Ms. Garland wonderful voice can also be heard on many radio and TV spots especially with the legendary blues guitarist B.B. King and actor James Earl Jones.  She also is dedicated to performing her talents to patients living with AIDS.  “The ability to make someone smile and forget their problems, if even for a minute Ms. Garland has been quoted to say, “It is all about.”

“The Lifetime Achievement Award” was presented to Soprano Star Vinny Vella for his lifetime accomplishments in film.  Mr. Vella was born in Brooklyn New York and still is a resident.  Because of his tough guy persona he has had the pleasure of working on many films and was more recently cast in such favorites as “Analyze That” and Martin Scorcese’s Casino with Robert DiNiro and Joe Pesci.  Dressed in a black silk creation designed by Count Vlad of Vladicouture my favorite moment was when I presented the Superstar Award to Recording Artist from the Village People Sexy Cowboy Randy Jones. This man never ceases to amaze me.  His career has been up and down and he has truly ridden the roller coaster of showbiz.  Not only has he accomplished stardom in music he also has film credits in Three Long Years, Beyond the Facade, A Tale about Bootlegging and Lawn of the Dead.  On the stage he has worked with Cathy Rigby in “Meet Me in St. Louis” “Carousel” with Ed Ames and “Funny Girl” with Carol Lawrence.  At the moment he is working on his latest project his new CD “Ticket to the World”.  He truly deserves the Superstar Award.

Tori and Candy Spelling Reconcile

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

tori-and-candy.jpg

Tori  and Candy Spelling

Tori Spelling and Candy Spelling have recently reconciled.  According to my sources the mother and daughter relationship has never really been close but family comes first.  Apparently Candy split up her romantic relationship with family friend Mark Nathanson.  Tori was angry that her mother was seeing Nathanson while her father was ill.

During this time she had a hilarious fake realty show starring herself and glamorous actress Loni Anderson who portrayed her pampered, self absorbed and self-indulged mother.

Candy decided that she wanted be closer to her family because now there is an adorable baby involved her grandchild Liam.  My source revealed that when Candy heard about Nathanson dating Victoria Principal it did shatter her ego and she was deeply hurt.  Candy Spellings rep replied, “They split months ago and it was her decision.”

“Shall We Dance” Richard Gere Under Arrest

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

 richard-gere.jpg

 Richard Gere

Richard Gere’s recent stunt while cutting a rug with Indian Star Shilpa Shetty caused much controversy after embracing the Indian beauty with a tumultuous kiss.  An Indian court has now ordered an arrest of the Bollywood movie star Shilpa Shetty and Hollywood actor Richard Gere for their obscene embrace at an AIDS Awareness Rally in Delhi this past month. Gere’s rep has no comments but Indian Star Shilpa Shetty insist it was nothing more than a reenactment of scene filmed in the movie “Shall We Dance”  Shetty defends Gere’s erotic behavior by saying although the kiss may have gotten a little out hand Gere was only trying to connect with the crowd.  Unfortunately someone should have explained Indian protocol to him before he acted so spontaneously!

The crime committed involves serving two years in the slammer and Gere has left the country.  I doubt he will return.

The new pilot for “Cashmere Mafia” similar to  Candace Bushnell’s “Lipstick Jungle” is about “A group of successful female executives who have been friends since college turn to each other for guidance as they juggle their careers,” explained by the internet site IMDB.com.  My sources revealed that the wardrobe is very extravagant.  Lucy Liu and some of the other stars of the TV pilot were filming a scene on Park Avenue yesterday dressed in expensive designer duds looking every bit the glamorous fashionistas they portray on TV.

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

 star5tobey_maquire1.jpg

 Toby Maquire Spiderman 3

The Spiderman 3 Star is traveling in style to promote the soon to be released blockbuster film.   Spiderman 3 is reported to be the most expensive movie ever made.   At the moment Tobey is endorsing the film with an entourage of a total of 10 people including Jennifer Meyer his fiancé their daughter Ruby and his personal chef who prepares a healthy vegetarian diet.  Toby also insist on drinking bottled water and requires two cases of the water he prefers, a nice comfortable rocking chair and a fully stocked refrigerator in his hotel room.

His character shy Peter Parker would be embarrassed at the way Tobey is journeying on his tour around the world.

Rosie O’Donnell Leaves the View

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Hello darlings, welcome back to Cognac’s Corner Magazine.

 rosie.jpg

 Rosie O’Donnell

The controversial comic and TV host for “The View” will be leaving the show in June.  Apparently Ms. O’Donnell could not agree on a mutual contract with ABC and said on today’s Show that she was willing to stay for an additional year.  Apparently ABC wanted her to for three additional years.  Rosie declined so she says, I believe it is for different reasons.  She did mention  though that she has agreed to appear occasionally next season for a one-hour ABC special on Autism.  Ms. O’Donnell is quoted as saying “It just didn’t work,” she said, “and that’s show biz. But it’s not sad because I loved it here and I love you guys and I’m not going away.”  Rosie helped the daytime talk show out by raising ratings which was much needed after Star Jones Reynolds.  Unfortunately she has just caused to much controversy including a nasty spat with The Donald that put our Ms. Barbara in the middle. Barbara is also quoted as saying “We have had to say the least, an interesting year.”   Barbara Walters dismisses the fact of having anything to do with ABC’s decision and Rosie expressing “This is not my doing or my choice.” but she has had to damage control after Rosie’s comments more specifically Monday’s Event The Annual New York Women in Communication Awards Luncheon when Rosie bashed Rupert Murdoch and used fowl language. Barbara also expressed to the media “I would like to point out that Rosie’s view is not always mine,” Walters said. “I would like to say for the record that I am very fond of Rupert Murdoch.”

The Donald has also expressed his comment to Fox News and states that ABC fired O’Donnel for remarks made at the Women in Communications luncheon “Barbara’s the happiest person in the world that Rosie’s been fired,” Trump said.

Cindi Berger, spokeswoman for both O’Donnell and Walters, denied Trump’s claim, wondering how he would know what had happened in contract negotiations between ABC and  O’Donnell.  Spokeswoman for Walter and O’Donnel states “She wasn’t going to commit to anything for three years and they would not commit to her for one more.”   I personally believe that Rosie was great for the View and her controversy added to the show’s ratings.  In February sweeps were up to 15 percent over lasts years demographics.

Rosie has also had many disputes with her co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck for her conservative views which has gotten enormous publicity.  Rosie has also criticized “American Idol” by saying “Isn’t that what America thinks of entertainment? To make fun of someone’s physical appearance. And when they leave the room, laugh hysterically at them. Three millionaires, one probably intoxicated.”  She even got into a tiff with with Kelly Ripa from “Live with Regis and Kelly” of making a homo phobic remark when she commented “radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America” and has been critical of President Bush.  But Rosie really added fuel to the fire when she blatanly commented on 9/11.

In my belief controversial statements by celebrities on Corporate TV is being censored  such as the case with the  Don Imus scenario.  Corporate America is controlling what we say, what we see and what we believe!

As we all enjoyed an evening of cocktails, champagne and hor dourves I had a chance to interview this sexy artist.  We sat in an elegant plush banquette in a cozy corner in Bruno’s below some of his famous artwork drinking Champagne as he revealed his special technique of showcasing digital images projected onto sheets of brushed aluminum.  Mr. Margarit jetsets around the world from the dangerous jungles of Africa to the glamorous cities of Europe to the fashionable Cannes Film Festival photographing amazing images of celebrities and landscapes.  Mr. Margarit’s Celebrity clients have included Ivana Trump, Russell Simmons and Bruce Willis.  I asked “What was it like to work with Ivana Trump”. “She commissioned me to photograph her yacht and she was really sweet” he fondly remembered.  This candid passionate artist discussed in length his love of photography, art, American culture and  his profound love for the American woman’s sophistication.  He especially enjoyed working with prize fighter Mike Tyson and mentioned his love of photographing the heavy weight champ.  During our interview I asked Cyril who were some of his favorite subjects and he revealed that he adored photographing Madonna.  “She possesses amazing energy which was incredible to capture on film,” he expressed. From her illustrious recording artist career, to her motion picture career, to her foray into the publishing industry, Madonna has done it all, seen it all.She truly is an amazing American woman.

An expected Scarlett was a no show at the Vanity Fair Party and Dior-sponsored Free Arts NYC event hosted by Amy Sacco last night.  My sources revealed that the blonde bombshell was partying Saturday night away after hosting “Saturday Night Live”  at several trendy New York City night spots  including McCormick & Schmick’s and Azza and then stumbled early Sunday morning after running away waving to the Paparazzi to go away!  Her reps insisted “Scarlett never agreed to co-host the Free Arts NYC event and was never scheduled to attend.”
