Happy Belated Birthday Sir Elton John

The sixty-year-old rocker celebrated his birthday last night at the famous Morningside Heights cathedral.   Inappropriate as it may sound after Sir John banned organized religion as being “hateful” come as it may he and his celebrity comrades including Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Sharon Osborne and many others all sang Happy Birthday to the star.
Emma Thompson and Diane Sawyer arrived giggling and Ms. Hurley who is now Mrs. Arun Nayar cut her honeymoon short just to wish her good buddy Elton Happy Birthday.
Apparently my source revealed that even though there was a great deal of publicity concerning the Event, organizers insisted that Sir Elton was totally surprised.
The soirée was elegant and tastefully done. Tables were adorned with silver chalices and the church displayed lovely white flowers throughout but that does not change Sir Elton’s mind about organized religion.Â
He has been quoted as saying “I would ban religion completely. Organized religion does not seem to work. It turns people into hateful lemmings, and it’s not really compassionate.”
Oh well darlings, there you have it. Sir Elton has spoken. In any event we all wish you a Happy Belated!
