Katie Gallagher Fall 2010
Cognac chats with Designer Katie Gallagher at her Fall 2010 show - Video by Lorenzo Esquivel
Cognacscorner.tv is sponsored by G2Organics.com and Scenterprises.com
The designer altered the sci-fi-goddess meets Forest Nymph. Nature, the Forest smokey wintery hues like grey, white charcoal were the inspiration for this season. Katie is well known for dressing her models in layered, pieced-together separates in velvety whites and silvers. To achieve the look the models hair was back teased for a science fiction/gothic look.
Katie and I talked backstage about her philosphy on fasion.
She has been quoted as saying:
I LIVE IN NEW YORK, BUT I WAS BORN BETWEEN A FARM AND A FOREST SOMEWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES. WHEN I WAS YOUNG, I HATED WEARING CLOTHES, BUT I ALWAYS WORE MY CAT THOMAS ON MY HEAD. I GRADUATED FROM THE RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN AND HAVE SPENT MUCH OF MY TIME AT THREEASFOUR AND ANNA SUI. I DON’T BELIEVE THAT FASHION IS THE END GOAL; STORIES, PERSONALITIES, MOODS,
IDEALS, AND ATTITUDES ARE. FASHION, WHEN EXECUTED SUCCESSFULLY, COMMUNICATES THESE ATTRIBUTES QUICKLY AND ELOQUENTLY.

The Tamara Pogosian Fall 2010 Collection launched on Monday February 15, 2010 with a fashion Presentation at La Pomme in Manhattan. The Collection filled with soft shades of pink, purple, luxurious touches of metallic earth tones, gracefully draped. Pogosian’s silhouettes embraced by starlets and “real” women, the look is an contrastingly fluid as it is intricately detailed with a seamless look for a night out or a red carpet event.
This season’s must-have’s are rounded out by the addition of logo inspired day looks in embracing the brand of “Love & Unity.” Whether you are a young starlet or young at heart. The Fall 2010 Collection is designed in collaboration with Northern Furs Fashion, by adding sophisticated fur with leather trimmed coats, jackets, shawls & hats adding luxury.

TV Host Cognac Wellerlane interviews Donnella from Donnella’s Closet and Designer Christopher Augmon at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - Video by Mauro Botero - Cognacscorner.tv is sponsored by by g2Organics.com and Scenterprises.com
During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I met up with Donnella from Donnellacloset.
Donnella’s Closet carries emerging designer brands and established favorites =-
She is a fashion enthusiast like you darlings,
Here’s what she has to say:
if I don’t carry it I want it, if Ido carry it i have it in 3 colors.
I love sharing ideas on accessories!
My mother is always well-dressed. Even as a little girl, I remember my mother always being impeccably dressed. No matter if she was going to the supermarket, picking us up from school or even a quick run to the mall, she always looked perfect.
Not only with great clothes, but wonderful earrings, necklaces and handbags that earned her many compliments from those who saw her.
Now as an adult, I realize this was no easy feat with a husband, and two screaming kids (my younger brother and me) always with her.
It’s funny how things that seem so small, at that time, affect you so strongly later. I realize now my love of stylish handbags and beautiful accessories to finally, Donnella’s Closet – www.shopdonnella.com was influenced by the beauty I always saw in my mother.
– I hope you’ll enjoy these articles, I love writing on fabulous emerging talented designers and the events of course in the world of fashion.

I also had the chance to chat with Designer Christopher Augmon.
“The inspiration for Christopher Augmon Handbag Designs comes from the influences that culture has played in my life. Having been exposed to many different customs and ethnicities, I’ve come to appreciate, embrace, respect, and value the richness of a variety of cultures,” said Christopher Augmon, founder, CEO and creative director of Christopher Augmon Handbag Designs.
“Along with these cultural influences is my passion as a designer. Combined, they are the source of my ideas and my ability to create exciting, new looks in handbags that fulfill consumers’ needs for uniqueness, style, individuality, function, and timeless fashion designs.”
Christopher Augmon has also modeled with various companies. These include Bloomingdales, Ralph Lauren, The Jones Store Company, Sears, and Hallmark Cards. Because of these experiences, Christopher Augmon is familiar with the fashion industry and trends. Most importantly is his understanding of the consumers’ desire for “classically unique” distinctive looks, especially when it comes to handbags.
“I started passionately designing leather apparel 3 years ago. I decided to focus on high-end designer handbags for women and men 18 months ago. I took costing classes at the Apparel Industry Board Inc., but basically (with a lot of hard work) learned handbag designing “organically” by taking several trips to New York City, submerging myself with New York handbag contractors and seeing women and men, especially in the Midwest, wanting great quality, unique, fashionable handbags that could be worn in all seasons and for multiple occasions. I also networked, researched and learned handbag leather, textile and hardware applications from Los Angeles, New York, China and Italy regarding the handbag design industry. I got a lot of help from consultants, mentors and illustrators at the Illinois Institute of Art.”
Christopher launched his first collection of elegantly high-end designed handbags featuring European, Asian,
African and Indian influences Fall 2008. Every handbag in his collection has a name and comes with background
on what inspired the design of each handbag, like “Liza” handbag, dedicated to his wife.
Christopher Augmon Designs are available at specialty boutiques in New York, Chicago, and on the web at augmon.com.
Christopher plays an active role in the Chicago community; namely with At Risk Children programs, which includes serving as a volunteer Executive Board Member on Chicago Youth Programs, and actively participates in mentoring and tutoring teenage boys and girls.
Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He currently resides in Chicago with his wife; he is originally from Kansas City.

DAVIDELFIN FALL 2010
Yves St. Laurent Super Model Shailah Edmonds and TV Host Cognac Wellerlane talk about DAVIDELFIN FALL 2010 - Video by Mauro Botero -Cognacscorner.tv is sponsored by g2Organics.com and Scenterprises.com
There was a mad rush to get to see the DAVIDELFIN FALL 2010 Show. DAVIDELFIN’S Public Relations were turning people away in droves in the tents to see the show. They even gave Stylist/Costume Designer Rosemary Ponzo who sits front row at every show a hard time but luckily at the last minute Rosemary and many others did see the show including 80’s Yves St. Laurent Super Model Shailah Edmonds who now coaches young models on the science of doing the catwalk on today’s competitive runways.
The show opened with a mysterious smokey cloud and Bjork’s “Sod Off.”
Surreal DavidElfin Fall 2010 show was a an exploration of the traditional menswear suit. Bravo’s Realty TV Star David Elfin invented his own new interruptation for Fall. A suit jacket was morped into a maxi-length boyfriend jacket dress for women, while the bottom half of a blazer was sewn onto trouser waists developing a peplum silhouette for the menwear. Elfin created an explosion of color, bright mustards, hot neon pinks, spiked the mostly black and grey collection while graphic black and white prints (both oversized checks and snakeskin) added to the Salvador Dali meets menswear vibe.
